Hanami Summer Training program
June-August 2026
Hanami Summer Training is designed to help athletes become more complete volleyball players through grass volleyball, position-specific training, and competitive outdoor play in a fun and supportive environment.
We believe some of the best volleyball development happens outside. Grass volleyball encourages athletes to touch the ball more often, develop better volleyball IQ, improve movement and communication skills, and continue growing while avoiding the burnout that can sometimes come with year-round indoor training.
This summer, athletes will train in a high-energy outdoor environment led by experienced Hanami coaches, with a strong focus on skill development, creativity, confidence, and competition.
Grass Volleyball Training:
Athletes will train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the summer in structured grass volleyball sessions led by Hanami coaches. Practices will include:
Skill development
Small-sided play and doubles
Competitive game situations
Movement and ball control training
Volleyball IQ development
Grass volleyball is one of the best ways for athletes to become more well-rounded players because it creates more touches, more decision making opportunities, and more opportunities to compete in smaller groups.
Weekend tournament opportunities will also be available throughout the summer for athletes interested in additional competition.
Position specific training
In addition to grass training, athletes will participate in 90-minute position-specific sessions led by coaches that specialize in each position.
Position groups will focus on:
Technical skill development
Position-specific footwork and movement
Game understanding and decision making
Advanced reps in smaller training groups
Position training schedules will vary depending on position group.
